Since 1978, Master Real Estate Professional and Broker, Andrea Hilliard Cooksey, has been exploring the different real estate disciplines (exits) as she has traveled the Real Estate Highway. This high-energy Subject Matter Expert is an innovative Thought Leader effortlessly teaching others how to master the Real Estate Highway to Success. She is a strong advocate in her community for “Democracy in Housing” through her leadership with the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). Mrs. Cooksey was the second woman to serve as Chairman of the Board since NAREB’s inception. NAREB is located in 93 urban communities across the United States and was formed in 1947 when Blacks were not invited to become a REALTOR. The Houston Black Real Estate Association (HBREA) is the local NAREB chapter since REALTOR membership was not available in Houston, Texas, where she resides, until 1972. NAREB is the oldest trade association and first Fair Housing Advocacy group which was used as a model for the formation of other trade associations such as National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), Asian American Real Estate Association (AAREA), National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals, (NAGLREP) and many more fighting for equal rights in the housing industry.

Mrs. Cooksey enjoys traveling with her husband, Jeffery since 1981, as well as enjoying her new role as “Ne Ne” (grandmother) to Chase the new joy to the family since the death of her father “Roy” in October 2015 and her brother “Roy” in 2016. Her approach to life is guided by Philippians 4:13 “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Which Strengtheneth Me”.
